"CO" stands for "corona", "VI" for "virus" and "D" for "disease", while "19" was for the year, as the outbreak was first identified on December 31st 2019.

Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).This virus is disseminated between animals and humans, thus it is a zoonotic disease. Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, and cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.
- Headache and Sore throat.- Fever- Difficulty breathing- Dry cough and Sneeze- Dyspnoea (Shortness of breath)- Shaking chills.
There is no vaccine to cure this virus yet. So, the best prevention for this infection is not to be exposed to it. There are many ways to stay away from this fatal disease:
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, ears and mouth with unwashed hands.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Stay home when you are sick.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
Make sure that your meat is cooked throughly before consuming and never eat raw meat. You need to cook it well because coronaviruses are sensitive to heat. It will be neutralized at 53 degrees Centigrade. Maybe, now is the time to go vegetarian.
Masks may provide some protection to you and others, but because they are loose and made of permeable material, droplets can still pass through. While face masks are popular, scientists doubt their effectiveness against airborne viruses. Make sure, all the disposable masks are government-certified to filter out 95 percent of harmful particulate matter, but the 3M 8516 N95 Particulate Respirator stood out as the most comfortable mask for long-term wear, as its design gives you space to breathe and has edges that don't push against your cheeks.
